Love - Infinite Devos 4
God is infinite in his LOVE
To be loving means to have the desire to seek a personal, joy-filled relationship with someone.
As you read, reflect on these three questions:
What does this mean for my life and my relationship with God?
What does this mean for my church and my relationship with the people at my church?
What does this mean for the world, and my relationship with the people of the world, especially non-Christians?
Isaiah 40:28-31
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
To him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
Who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
Who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
Who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
The sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
The moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.(…)
He remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever.
and freed us from our enemies.
His love endures forever.
He gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.
Jan’s Reflections
1. What does this mean for my life and my relationship with God?
In every circumstance there is always something to be thankful for. The idea is that no matter how bad of a situation you think you are in, God put you there to use that situation as a stepping stone to grow in your relationship with Him. In Psalm 136, the phrase “His faithful love endures forever” is emphasized as the chapter speaks about God’s works here on earth and beyond because he loves his people.
2. What does this mean for my church and my relationship with the people at my church?
The same love God has shown me must be reflected in how I treat those in my church. We are called to serve the church willingly and selflessly just as God did for us. We are led to lead.
3. What does this mean for the world, and my relationship with the people or the world, especially non-Christians?
The Word urges us to evangelize God’s teachings to those that are of the world. So that, like we who were changed by His grace, they may also experience the love of God.
